"Make LEAN Work for You" is a unique two-day experience. Hosted on-site at Avera McKennan Hospital and University Health Center in Sioux Falls, SD, this conference allows you to experience LEAN at work in a healthcare facility. You will learn about the tools, experience, and leadership needed to put LEAN principles to work within your organization.
You will discover:
- How Avera McKennan applies LEAN principles at its 500-bed hospital
- How to move from LEAN principles to practical application
- How to build LEAN into your facilities
- Real case studies in a variety of areas
You will also hear from the leaders of Avera McKennan Hospital and University Health Center who were instrumental in implementing LEAN within that facility and tour hospital departments that have fully implemented LEAN. In addition, you will be introduced to Catena © Process Improvement System, a software system that simplifies the management of LEAN projects.
Speakers
Phil Emard, President of AveraOpEx and a consultant with the Health Care Leadership Institute draws on his 22 years of experience in operations management and his formal Toyota Production System training at companies in Japan and North America to guide you through LEAN principles.
 Brian Dapp, Chief Operating Officer of AveraOpEx, has 15 years of operations management and engineering experience. Brian has applied his expertise in project management and process improvement with clients such as Stanford University Medical Center, Geisinger Medical Laboratories, and Cleveland Clinic.
 Kathy Maass, is the Director of Process Excellence at Avera McKennan Hospital and University Health Center and oversees operational improvement activities. Kathy has led projects in the Emergency Department, Central Supply, Operative Services, and patient care areas.
You will also hear from the leaders of Avera McKennan Hospital who were instrumental in implementing LEAN projects within that facility.
