Is the Baptist Health Care Leadership Institute affiliated with any religious organization?
No. The Leadership Institute is a for-profit, wholly owned subsidiary of Baptist Health Care of Pensacola, Florida. Baptist Health Care is a community-owned health system with no affiliation with any religious organization. The proprietary products and services offered by The Leadership Institute are not faith-based and are appropriate for any organization regardless of ownership or affiliation.

Why do hospitals choose to partner with The Leadership Institute?
Baptist Leadership Institute is a hospital-based program offering real-time access to hospital peers at all levels within our organization. Since our full-time consultants are also employees of our health system, they walk-the-walk participating in the same employee forums, leadership development initiatives and service excellence strategies that they teach their clients. Additionally, we have a proven track record of achieving sustained results both in our health system and with our clients throughout the U.S. and Canada. We pull from national best practices and create a custom approach specifically for your organization’s strengths, challenges and goals.

Is Baptist Leadership Institute a training organization?
Our primary focus is establishing cultures dedicated to the pursuit of service and operational excellence by creating a positive environment for employees and customers. Though we can provide some training at an organization’s request, long-term results will never be achieved or sustained by simply offering training to employees. Leaders and employees must take ownership in creating a positive culture by participating first-hand in the change process and actively reflecting the image of what they want their organization to become. Our consulting team’s objective to get everyone from the top down actively engaged in creating a great culture.

Does The Leadership Institute have any experience in building relationships with physicians?
Yes. Coy Irvin, MD, Senior Medical Consultant for Baptist Leadership Institute, is one of the nation’s leading authorities on building and maintaining great relationships with physician communities, and leads our physician strategies team. Dr. Irvin has extensive experience in shaping strategies to excite and engage physicians in the service excellence initiatives of organizations.

Are there any organizations that are too large or too small for The Leadership Institute to work with?
No. Regardless of your organization’s size, Baptist Leadership Institute has the services and depth of resources to most effectively support your needs. Since we do not use a cookie-cutter approach to service excellence, we tailor each client relationship to meet your organization’s goals and objectives.

Will Leadership Institute consultants come on site to my organization under a consulting agreement?
Yes. Our consultants may spend anywhere from 12 to 45 days a year onsite depending on the size of your organization. The consultants provide hands-on support in everything from personally demonstrating rounding and scripting with real patients to writing 90-day action plans and coaching executives. We develop a personal relationship with you, your team and your community.

Does The Leadership Institute provide consulting services in a unionized environment?
Yes. The Leadership Institute provides consulting services in many unionized hospitals throughout the U.S. and Canada. We encourage union leaders to take an active role in creating a culture focused on service excellence, and our clients have experienced tremendous success in building union support and engagement.
